Her name is GÜLÇIN ÇENGEL. She’s incredibly gifted, hails from Turkey, and makes it her mission to design for strong and confident women, with a view to empowering them with her collections.
Earlier pieces have been compared to armour, which she takes as a huge compliment.
She should. It’s the kind of DDG armour you wanna wear all the time; elaborate, feminine and exquisitely crafted, but simultaneously edgy, modern and unapologetic for its body hugging and baring audacity.
Looking at the confident wearer, it’s almost as if you can hear the proud declaration: “I’m strong, myself, and wearing this masterpiece on my own terms.”
Not surprisingly, Cengel’s latest A/ W 2017 collection, shown recently as part of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Istanbul, was as spectacular as ever, “armed” with a series of seriously badass-in-the-most-beautiful-way frocks, gowns, jumpers, and more.
