FROM SOCIAL GAL TO SOFA GAL: Hello beautiful humans. If you’re reading this and have been regular visitors to the website and social media platforms then you know it’s been a while since I – and the brand – played in the Social Media sandbox or any media sandbox.
There are several reasons for that, but the biggie behind the digital distancing: My precious pooch Presley had a what-the-hell-else-is-effen-2020-going-to-throw-at-me-next stroke in June and it was a catalyst to step away from the everything and focus on him and certain other priorities … including myself.
You see, I didn’t realize it at the time but I had been on auto pilot for at least the last 20 and as life sometimes has an insidious way of doing, got completely caught up in what many might affectionately dub the rat race, the ruthless run to the top, the MORE is better addiction; MORE events, MORE mags, MORE articles, MORE posts, MORE stories, MORE clients, MORE clothes, MORE beauty product, MORE stuff … MORE MORE.
You get the picture.
And with all this striving came the inevitable prize: burnout, and a complete loss of self and what really matters.
While I wish to heck it wouldn’t have taken a global pandemic to give me the much-needed cause for pause and reflection, that’s what happened (a silver lining if we can call it that), and, the life lessons that ensued over the past challenging months have been plentiful.
Which brings me to the reason for my return on this platform and others: I have some things to share that might well bring some value to your personal journeys, or at the least, inspire a giggle, if not a full-blown AHA moment.
