On the warm evening of Thursday, August 6, Marcel-Laurin Park became one of Saint-Laurent’s most enchanting gathering places.
As the sun dipped below the horizon and the first stars appeared, thousands of residents, families, music lovers, and curious visitors gathered on the lawn for a night of music and community. There were no tickets, no velvet ropes, and no barriers. Just a beautiful summer evening and the anticipation of hearing one of Canada’s finest orchestras beneath the open sky.
Presented as part of the Fête de Saint-Laurent, the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal brought its signature sound outdoors with a free concert beginning at 7:30 p.m. Under the direction of renowned conductor Rafael Payare, the orchestra transformed the neighborhood park into an open-air concert hall.
Adding to the evening was beloved host André Robitaille, whose warmth and humor helped make the experience feel accessible to everyone, from longtime classical music lovers to children hearing a symphony orchestra for the first time.
