Forty years. One extraordinary city. And the most breathtaking fireworks competition in the world returning to light up our Montreal sky.
L’International des Feux Loto-Québec, one of the longest-running and most beloved summer traditions in the city, returns to La Ronde on Île Sainte-Hélène on Thursday, July 2nd, running through August 6th. And to celebrate its magnificent 40th edition, organizers have pulled out all the stops, with past winning firms joining forces for a milestone celebration that promises to be unlike anything the competition has ever produced before.
This year’s lineup of pyrotechnic teams is nothing short of world-class, with representatives from Hungary, Italy, China, Canada, the United States, and Australia all competing to light up the Montreal skyline in the most spectacular fashion imaginable. The season opens with a dedicated 40th anniversary show and closes with a breathtaking “Tribute to the Legends” night that feels like the perfect bookend to one of summer’s most anticipated events.
Each show begins at 10 PM, with live music on the Loto-Québec stage kicking off at 8 PM featuring a different Quebec artist each evening. And for the third year running, five minutes of stunning laser effects from firm Laser-Quantum will accompany each display, adding yet another layer of pure visual magic to an already extraordinary evening.
The fireworks are launched exclusively from inside La Ronde, but the beauty of this event is that Montreal itself becomes the stage. Catch the show from the Old Port, Longueuil’s waterfront, along the St. Lawrence River, or from the iconic Jacques-Cartier Bridge, each viewpoint offering its own spectacular perspective on the most dazzling display in the city’s summer calendar.
Montreal summers are already magical. But on fireworks nights? Our city becomes something truly transcendent.
