INTERVIEW WITH CANADIAN FIDDLER MORGAN GRACE

Riddle her Fiddles

Some musicians play music. Morgan Grace lives it.

The Canadian violinist and fiddler has been making waves across the country with a talent so natural, so deeply rooted, and so infectiously joyful that it is impossible not to be completely moved by every single note she plays. And if you have not yet discovered her extraordinary gift, consider this your introduction.

Morgan’s love affair with the fiddle began long before she ever picked one up. Music filled her home from the very beginning, with a family friend who played the fiddle serving as her earliest and most powerful influence. As she beautifully puts it herself, “as soon as you pick up a fiddle, the possibilities are endless.” And for Morgan, those possibilities have taken her to some of the most celebrated stages in the country.

Most recently, Morgan graced the Canada Day 2025 celebrations in Ottawa, performing live on CBC in front of the entire nation in what was nothing short of a breathtaking moment of pure Canadian pride. Watching her perform is to understand immediately why she has earned her place among Canada’s most exciting musical talents. Her energy is electric, her technique is flawless, and her genuine love for what she does radiates from every performance in the most beautiful way imaginable.

Beyond the stage, Morgan is the passionate mind behind Fiddles For Life, a deeply meaningful initiative that speaks to her belief in the power of music to transform lives and connect communities. A musician, an artist, and a true Canadian treasure in every sense of the word.

We are completely obsessed and we have a feeling you will be too.

  1. What are the advantages of being a musician?

“Well I get to meet people, go places and see things. But in a longer answer meeting people is not a reference to particular people but all kinds of people. Young and old, famous or everyday folks. Music has taken me across the world and down the street ….. music has a place in many places.”

2. Who are you inspired by to become a musician?
“I grew up around a kitchen table of music since I was born. There was a fiddle player and many other folks playing and singing. But there was also people watching. It was those people around the “Friendship” table that inspired me to play music.”

4. Any plans on performing at your shows with new music?
“Not currently…. There is a new original song in the works. If you are saying blending fiddle with New Age music… that is not something we have explored.”
