1. How do you source new content stories?
“I’m very online, which comes with a slightly alarming screen time but also a constant stream of ideas. I pay attention to what people are actually talking about, not just what the industry is trying to push. That gap is usually where the interesting stories are. When I write, I have zero interest in repeating angles that have already been done ten times. The wine and spirits industry evolves quickly, but the storytelling often doesn’t. I’m drawn to what’s overlooked, a bit more nuanced, or simply more honest about how people are actually drinking and experiencing things today.”
2. In your opinion, what are the aspects of good content?
“Good content is clear, intentional, and worth someone’s time. It should teach you something, make you feel something, or make you look at a familiar topic differently. But what really makes it good is the voice. You can have the best insight in the world, but if it sounds like it was written to please everyone, people disconnect. Especially on social media. I want to follow you because you sound like someone, not something. If your content could be swapped with ten other creators and no one would notice, it’s not good content.”
3. What inspires you to become a writer and content creator?
“I’ve always been drawn to storytelling, but more specifically to making things feel accessible. Wine and spirits can be overly technical, sometimes even a bit pretentious, and I enjoy cutting through that and making it feel more natural, more current, and more human. A lot of my inspiration comes from real life. Travel, conversations, small moments that say a lot about how people actually enjoy things. I’m less interested in the polished, “perfect” version of a story and more in something that feels real and grounded.”
4. What is the most difficult part of writing?
“Not overthinking it and not polishing the personality out of it. There’s always a point where you start questioning everything. The angle, the tone, whether it sounds “right” enough. It’s very easy to smooth everything out until it feels safe, technically correct, and completely forgettable. The hard part is knowing when to stop and keep a bit of edge. That’s usually what makes people actually pay attention.”
