Montréal loves a good party. Montréal loves art. And when the two collide, the result is always Les Printemps du MAC.
Not surprisingly, this year’s edition transformed Place Ville Marie into a dreamy after-dark playground where artists, philanthropists, fashion lovers and the city’s cultural elite gathered under the theme Carpe Noctem for one of spring’s most anticipated nights out.
The evening welcomed more than 1,000 guests and raised more than $415,000 in support of Habiter le MAC, a new initiative designed to help emerging Québec artists build and grow their careers. Not bad for a Thursday night.
What we loved most? ALL of it.
One minute you’re admiring contemporary art, the next you’re spotting some of Montréal’s most stylish faces on the BonLook red carpet. There were emerging designer collaborations, beauty stations, cocktails, DJs, creative installations and enough interesting people-watching to keep even the most seasoned social butterfly (ahem!) entertained.
At its heart, though, the evening remained focused on what matters most: supporting the next generation of artists and giving them the space, visibility and opportunities to thrive.
A beautiful night. A worthy cause. A tres Montréal combination.
And proof, once again, that this city knows how to show up for the arts.Photos: Les
