Famous Canadian singer Billie du Page, known for her concert and music festivals performances graciously agreed to an interview about her career and aspirations!

1. What’s the hardest part about being a singer?
“Music is my passion and singing is my life. My job makes me feel at home, whether it’s singing on stage, writing in a studio, or doing interviews. Getting out of my comfort zone is something I also like to do. Sometimes, this is when the tough parts come in, but I love to be challenged. I think there are no hard parts, as they help me grow and improve my skills. When I struggle with finishing a song or finding inspiration, I learn and try to come up with solutions!”

2. Why is it important to write songs with music and lyrics?
“Writing songs is a form of therapy for me. This is how I deal with my emotions. By writing about my life, I hope that my stories can connect with others and help them find themselves through my lyrics. Singing my own songs and hearing the crowd respond makes me feel like we’re united and share a common feeling.”

3. Who are you inspired by to become part of upcoming performances?
“My stage performances are influenced by many artists. When I am opening for singers, afterwards, I get to watch their performance from backstage and analyze their movements and how they interact with the audience. It’s a great experience! I am also influenced by artists I admire, such as Angèle, Dua Lipa, Charlotte Cardin, Lana del Ray…”

4. Do you take part in live concerts?
“I’m nearing the end of my first festival tour this summer, and I love it! I opened for various artists in Quebec and Europe during a few shows last year, and since then, I have come to realize that being on stage is magical. The love a crowd can give you is unparalleled! I’m thrilled to have so many shows coming up!”
