SHE: Caroline Vreeland, fashion royal, great granddaughter of style legend Diana Vreeland, brilliant singer, performer, model, writer, actress, and lifestyle influencer. Wonder Woman.
HE: Cary Tauben, one of the most popular fashion stylists in the country, creative director, next-level fashion influencer, dance king, and our very own fashion director.
Together: red carpet/party gold—the kind of entrance-makers that red carpet reporters and social columnists dream of. If we could only bottle their bestie chemistry, we would (and make a killing in the process). What we can do is let them go wild for a bit. Grown-up dress-up as it should be in the iconic Ritz-Carlton Montreal Enjoy the show.
Hey, you two, your bond is palpable, on fire, contagious, and fabulous. Please speak to that for us. (This is the connectivity edition, wink.)
CT: Caroline and I are the type of people who felt like we knew each other from the moment we first met. It was like we knew each other for eternity and were cosmic twins brought to each other from another planet. When we walk into a room together, heads turn, but we can each equally shine no matter what room we’re in together.
CV: You would be hard-pressed to find anyone who isn’t captivated by the beautiful whirlwind that is Cary Tauben. I’m lucky to have him in my orbit. I respect him because we can dance all night long, but he’s also the type of friend who makes time to come over and hang with my babies. Our friendship is equal parts wild and wholesome, and that’s rare, I think.

What do you love most about each other?
CT: What I love most about Caroline is her contagious energy and big heart. She has that natural aura that makes you want to be around her. We’re just lucky enough to have found each other. Together, we’re unstoppable.
CV: Cary’s energy is unmatched. He’s always in a positive, productive mood. He lights up any room he’s in.
What inspires you most about each other?
CT: We both love to serve a look! We feed off each other’s glamour, over-the-top energy, and personalities.
CV: Cary’s uniqueness, confidence, and work ethic inspire me.
What makes you both squeal with laughter when you’re together?
CT: Too many private inside jokes to mention, but just being together brings us both pure joy at all times. It’s always nonstop laughter and fun.
CV: Things that I cannot write down for a respectable piece of literature such as this! (laughs)
What are your favourite activities to share?
CT: Playing dress up for sure, but lately, for me, seeing Caroline as the best mother has been very special.
CV: Upon moving to Montreal, my social circle started quite small. Having Cary there really made an impact on me in my new home. I love going over to his house and catching up over a glass of wine, or driving around together doing our errands in town. Any activity is fun by his side.
Where do you like to hang together? Chill together? Escape together? Party together?
CT: We first met at Coachella years ago, when Caroline was still living in LA. In those days, we used to meet up in LA or Miami, with the occasional trip to the Bahamas. These days, we love a good pasta dinner date at Barbara with chill hangs at each other’s homes.
CV: I neeeeeed a Cary trip asap. Some of my fondest memories are of Cary and I in the Bahamas on my 30th birthday when we planned a big beach day, but it rained the whole time and I was stressed about letting everyone down, so Cary opened up his Mary Poppins luggage and pulled out—I’m not joking—10 different outfits, all head-to-toe Gucci, Fendi, LV, Dior, and dressed every single one of the girls. We were all suddenly pretending to be the wild hosts of some TRL-esque type show with crazy accents and filming the funniest videos. We then proceeded to do a photoshoot and have a dance party inside while it poured rain outside. He always makes the best of any situation.
Finally, if you were on a desert island (don’t worry, with each other), what would you do? What would be the vibe minus all the crazy of our digital world?
CT: I think we would live our Blue Lagoon Island fantasy, bask in each other’s company, and create looks to still serve on the island.
CV: We would probably design some chic outfits fastened from palm leaves and create our own epic narrative of the king and queen of the island, eat all the coconut rations in one day, and be left with nothing except our laughter and Cary’s long extensions to keep us warm.
