Dior has done it again. And this time, the result is absolutely breathtaking.
Ahead of the new Miss Dior Eau de Parfum launch on August 6th, Dior has unveiled a stunning new campaign film starring their longtime muse Natalie Portman, and it is everything a summer fragrance campaign should be. Warm, luminous, deeply romantic, and impossibly beautiful from the very first frame.
Set against a sunlit Paris backdrop bathed in the most gorgeous hues of coral, blush, and crimson, the film opens with Portman at a street corner flower stand, hand-selecting blooms with a quiet intention that feels both intimate and deeply personal. Every stem, the film suggests, carries its own emotional weight. Affection. Warmth. Joy. And then the narrative opens up entirely, following Portman as she runs freely along a beach and dives into open water in an elaborate designer gown, because only Dior would make that feel completely natural and utterly magnificent.
The overall styling is soft, youthful, and deeply aligned with the updated aesthetic that creative director Jonathan Anderson has been bringing to the storied house, while still feeling unmistakably, timelessly Miss Dior. Behind the camera is French filmmaker Manu Cossu, a returning collaborator on the Miss Dior campaign series, with still photography by Australian photographer Lachlan Bailey capturing Portman in a softly patterned gown with a delicate necktie detail that is equal parts delicate and completely self-assured.
The question the film poses to viewers is simple and irresistible: how far would you go in the name of love? With Natalie Portman asking it while running through Paris in a Dior gown, the answer, darling, is very far indeed.
