It’s one of the party city’s most beloved balls for one of our most beloved cultural institutions, the Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MAC), and boy, did absence during the past two years make the party-loving heart grow fonder.
We missed you Bal du MAC, and are so glad you’ve made a grand return, attracting some of the biggest bold face names back to the Idyll-themed magic at the Salada Market, Royalmount including Mitsou, Charles Lafortune and Sophie Prégent, Julie Snyder, Alexandra Diaz, Sophie Laurin, Fabienne Larouche, Valérie Taillefer, Julie du Page, Bruni Surin, designer Markantoine, conductor Rafael Payare and myriad other luminaries in the fields of business, philanthropy, culture and more.
What a night it was; record breaking attendance, perfect tails and gourmet nosh, an art auction brimming with talent from the likes of Marc Séguin, Caroline Monnet, Kim Dorland, Janet Werner, Robert Rahal and Heidi Spector and, most importantly, record breaking funds- a cool million$ net for the Fondation du MAC!
A huge congrats to the dream team topped by co-chairs Marie-Claude Dumas (WSP Canada), Geneviève Turbide-Potvin (National Bank) and Valery Zamuner (Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc.) as well as their dedicated organizing committee: chairperson Marie-Josée Simard, Elizabeth Camiré, Violette Cohen, Josée Dufresne, François Lachance, Stéphanie Larivière, Patricia Lemaire and Cathy Samson.
The Bal du MAC 2022 will be long remembered,” said Anne Lebel, Executive Director of the foundation. “Not only did this first post-pandemic edition stand out for the record amount raised in a single evening for the foundation but it also highlights the return of major philanthropic events, an oasis for organizations that, like ours, must rely on precious donors to accomplish their noble mission.”
Amen and BRAVO!!!!
