LE MOLIÈRE

FRENCH DINING IN QUARTIER LATIN

Three years after opening its doors, under the name Le Molière par Mousso, the rebranded Le Molière Brasserie Française has firmly established itself as one of the defining dining destinations in Montreal’s Quartier Latin.

Perched inside Espace St-Denis at the corner of Saint-Denis Street and De Maisonneuve Boulevard, the restaurant has grown alongside the district’s ongoing renewal, welcoming theatre audiences, business professionals, neighborhood residents, and tourists seeking polished French cuisine in an inviting setting.

The bright dining room captures natural light through expansive windows before transforming into a warm evening destination. Parisian brasserie influences appear throughout the interior, where clean architectural lines, comfortable banquettes, polished wood, and thoughtful lighting create an atmosphere that encourages lingering conversations over carefully prepared meals and well selected wines.

French Brasserie Classics with Precision

Le Molière embraces the enduring traditions of the French brasserie with confidence. Originally conceived by businessman and producer Jean Pilote, under the culinary direction of celebrated chef Antonin Mousseau-Rivard, the restaurant now flourishes under executive chef Jordane Urbain, who has led the kitchen since November 2024 with disciplined technique and consistently refined execution.

Guests discover familiar favorites prepared with notable meticulosity. Rockefeller oysters topped with green herbs on rich melted cheese is their iconic appetizer.

Flank steak with poivrade sauce and fries remains a signature selection. Attention to detail, right down to the last drop.

Mussels marinière, beef tartare, duck leg confit, calf’s liver bourguigonne and salmon with sorrel sauce celebrate timeless French cooking while allowing premium ingredients to remain the focus of every plate.

Side dishes receive equal care. Crisp french fries, creamy potato purée, seasonal vegetables, and fresh salads complement the main courses without competing for attention. Desserts complete the experience with elegant presentations, including profiteroles topped with a generous helping of hot chocolate sauce.

A Restaurant That Reflects the District

Since its debut in on February 7, 2023, Le Molière has become closely associated with the revitalization of the Quartier Latin district. The surrounding neighborhood continues to benefit from nearby institutions including UQAM, the Grande Bibliothèque, the École nationale de l’humour, and the growing cultural programming at Espace St-Denis. The restaurant contributes to that momentum by attracting diners throughout the day and extending the district’s energy well into the evening.
