Mark your calendars, Montreal, it’s about to get bubbly. From September 18 to October 3, the iconic Maison Krug—the legendary Champagne house founded in 1843—is making its dazzling return with Krug Week at Jatoba, a chic downtown Montreal restaurant. This year’s star ingredient? The carrot.

Chef Olivier Vigneault, Jatoba’s executive chef and culinary mastermind, is turning the everyday carrot into haute cuisine, pairing it with Krug’s most prestigious cuvées: the Krug Grande Cuvée 171st Edition Brut and the Krug Rosé 25th Edition.
For the true gourmands, the full tasting menu ($335) offers a complete immersion into carrot-inspired decadence, each course choreographed with a glass of Krug. More of a light sipper? The Bouchée menu ($80) is your ticket to a one-bite wonder: royal salmon with carrot purée, za’atar, kimchi-brunoise, and carrot-soy jus, crowned by a flute of Krug Grande Cuvée.
Jatoba has been a Krug Ambassade (their name for global partner restaurants) since 2020, and it shows. With just over 200 Ambassades worldwide, these select spots are chosen for their ability to transform champagne into an experience rather than just a drink. Pair that with Vigneault’s years of mastering Japanese and Chinese flavours, and you’ve got a gastronomic affair as exclusive as a front-row seat at Dior.

So whether you’re a champagne aficionado, a culinary adventurer, or simply in it for the Instagram, Krug Week promises sparkle, sophistication, and a little carrot-fueled joy. But be warned—tables are limited, and if there’s one thing more elusive than a perfect glass of Krug Rosé, it’s a last-minute reservation at Jatoba.
