Going country in Gulf Shores: Hangout Music Fest

JUST GO!

Lana Del Rey wasn’t mincing words when, on January 31, 2024, at the Billboard’s Power 100 Party 2024 pre-Grammy event in Los Angeles, she announced that both she and the music industry were “going country.”

The singer-songwriter, who will be performing at Hangout Music Festival 2024 in Gulf Shores, Alabama along with headliners Zach Bryan, alt-country’s music sweetheart, as well as the electronic duo Odesza, is releasing her 10th studio album in September, entitled Lasso.

Proving Del Rey’s point, Beyonce released a surprise country music album in March, Cowboy Carter, unleashing a wave of line dances accompanied to the single Texas Hold ‘Em on social media.

The genre, which like most musical styles, bridges the gap between music and fashion with its own special blend of trends that include denim, leather, fringes and feathers, among others, is now being referred to as cowboy core and being adopted by celebrities such as Bella Hadid and Kim Kardashian.

Dairy Boy, a lifestyle denim, clothing, and housewares brand by horse girl and social media influencer Paige Lorenze, embodies the spirit of the #cowboycore vibe.

Other fashion houses to adopt the Western trend include Louis Vuitton, who’s fall/winter 2024 men’s show featured embroidered shirting, head-to-toe denim (also known as a Canadian tuxedo), bolo ties and, of course, chaps.

Similarly, hybrid fringed pants have suddenly appeared at Chloé, studded leather at Isabel Marant and Western-style shirts at Molly Goddard; not to mention the fringe jackets on the Coach fall 2024 runway.

Other popular Western items include cowboy hats, boots and belts as well as prairie dresses, all of which are ideal for music festivals.

This year’s lineup will showcase a slew of leading names in varying genres from pop and country to electronic, rock, alternative, rap, and beyond, including: The Chainsmokers, Cage The Elephant, Renée Rapp and Jessie Murph, plus many more.

Now in its 13th year, the festival is more than a 3-day concert, it’s a music lover’s paradise.

Serving as the ultimate kickoff to summer where the top artists descend upon a stunning setting with seaside beach clubs and in-ground swimming pools at the main stage, plus delicious food, luxury options, and more.

Gulf Shores is just a short drive from both the Pensacola, Florida and Mobile, AL airports and offers accommodations packages that include beach houses, condominiums and hotels.

Located near the festival grounds, every balcony at Hangout House overlooks the festival stages and features spectacular views of Boom on the Beach, for VIP and Super VIP guests.

Hangout is continuously recognized as one of the best festivals in the US.

As part of its efforts to support the local community, the festival launched its Earn-A-Ticket Program (in partnership with Propeller) last year, encouraging interested festival-goers in the Gulf Shores area to take action online and volunteer their time in exchange for festival tickets and prizes.
