At the Hyatt Centric hotel in the heart of Old Montreal, an immersive culinary experience invites diners to explore the intersection of art and gastronomy. Presented, on the 14th floor, in the Horizon rooftop restaurant, the interactive dinner show 7 Paintings – The Art of Dining, created by Dinner Tales, transforms a traditional tasting menu into a theatrical journey through the history of art.

From December 18th, 2025, to July 31st, 2026, every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evening at 7 PM, a limited group of guests gathers for a two and a half hour performance that blends storytelling, visual art, and refined cuisine. With seating limited to just 32 participants, the experience feels intimate and carefully choreographed.

A Culinary Journey Inspired by Great Masters
The concept of 7 Paintings revolves around a seven-course menu inspired by iconic artists and their works. Each dish serves as both a culinary creation and a narrative moment within the performance.

Guests encounter references to figures, such as Michelangelo, Andy Warhol, Vincent van Gogh, and Banksy, while visual projections and storytelling weave together the history and symbolism of each artist’s work.

Throughout the evening, participants will listen to brief anecdotes connected to the artwork, solve creative riddles, and paint small canvases. The result is an experience that feels closer to immersive theatre than a conventional restaurant dinner.

The Menu as an Artistic Canvas
With slight variations in culinary delights and accessories depending what city are you are in and which chef is in the kitchen, the evening usually unfolds through seven acts, each inspired by a different artistic movement and geography.
Act 1 – Italy | Michelangelo : The experience opens with a tomato praline accompanied by basil gel and watercress, served in a delicate shell crostini.

Act 2 – United Kingdom | Banksy : A refined veal carpaccio wrapped in herbs and lime arrives with truffle mayonnaise, olive soil, sakura cress, and toasted olive bread.

Act 3 – Spain | Pablo Picasso : Andalusian barb filet follows, scented with cinnamon and lavender, paired with lemon celery salad and a garlic red wine essence.

Act 4 – United States | Jackson Pollock : the guest is invited to create a modern art painting on a placemat with brushstrokes of spinach coconut, beet, pumpkin purée, and goma dressing as edible paint, that can be wiped up with fresh vegetables – leaf lettuce, chicory, primal carrot, and young celery.

Act 5 – United States | Andy Warhol : The main course presents medium grilled fillet of beef with sweet potato mash, glazed sugar snap peas, and balsamic jus.

Act 6 – Spain | Dalí : Inspired by surrealism, a playful dessert of crema catalana inside a coated potato appears with mint, berries, and salted caramel ice cream.

Act 7 – Netherlands | Vincent van Gogh : The finale arrives as an invitation to complete a chocolate painting on coconut meringue with chocolate chili sauce, light chocolate lime sauce, and chocolate raspberry sauce.
Each course reinforces the theatrical narrative of the evening, translating artistic heritage into flavour, colour, and presentation.

A Multisensory Dining Experience
The appeal of 7 Paintings at Hyatt Centric Montreal lies in its combination of gastronomy, storytelling, and interactive creativity. The dining room becomes a stage where food, narrative, and visual imagery evolve together over the course of the evening.
Participants discover their own creative impulses as they paint and interact with the performance, while the carefully timed courses maintain the rhythm of the show.
With tickets priced at $149 plus taxes, the event positions itself as a premium culinary experience within Montreal’s vibrant dining scene.
Because seating is limited, reservations tend to fill quickly. For those seeking a dinner that blends art history, entertainment, and refined cuisine, 7 Paintings offers a distinctive evening that engages every sense.
