Norman Parkinson‘s photography influenced the fashion world immensely from the 1930s to the 1980s. Not only did he reinvigorate celebrity portraiture, but his collaborations with some of our favourite magazines—Harper’s Bazaar and Vogue among them—cemented his place in fashion history.
Until September 2nd, McCord Stewart Museum has an exhibition displaying Parkinson’s photographs. It highlights the ways in which Parkinson changed the photography game: shooting models in motion in the outdoors, incorporating colour, and inspired magazine covers. He captured moments in time, celebrities, artists, and public figures long gone but living forever through his lens.
