Saint-Laurent Boulevard is alive, and darling, it has never looked more beautiful.
The 14th edition of the MURAL Festival, presented by Fizz, has kicked off in the most spectacular fashion, drawing thousands of festivalgoers to the heart of Montreal to witness some of the world’s most talented muralists transform the city in real time. Over 100 gallons and 400 cans of paint have already been used, and the boulevard is only getting more breathtaking by the day.
More than 20 visual artists from around the globe are currently creating their masterpieces along Saint-Laurent, including first-time MURAL participants Murfin from Spain, GREG MIKE from the United States, Fatima Alsharshani from Qatar, Jumu from Germany, and KAIFLYN from Switzerland. Each work is as distinct and mesmerizing as the artist behind it, and watching them come to life in real time is an experience unlike anything else.
The evenings have been equally electric. The Scène Saint-Laurent has been pulsing with Block Parties featuring over 40 musical artists including DJs, producers, performers, and dancers keeping the neighbourhood alive well into the night. Still to come this week: Queen N Queer on Thursday, Mike Shabb & Friends on Friday, Homegrown Harvest on Saturday, and Bonne Famille closing the festival on Sunday.

Not to be missed? The legendary Secret Walls paint battle, four artists facing off live using only the colour black, with the grand final taking place Wednesday, June 10th at 8:00 PM. And on Friday, June 12th, three Cirque du Soleil ECHO performers will take over the Cirque ECHO Cube for a surprise appearance that promises to be as mesmerizing as it sounds.
Free graffiti workshops, Street Chalk activities, and guided mural tours by Spade & Palacio round out a week of programming that truly has something for everyone.
MURAL runs through June 14th. Montreal, your city has never looked more like a living, breathing work of art. 🎨🖤✨
