MAISON MARGIELA’S “JOY” — A FILM TO FEEL

Creativity. Music. Magic.

Leave it to Maison Margiela to turn a campaign film into a full sensory experience.

The iconic house has unveiled Joy, a captivating short film celebrating its Spring Summer 2026 collection, starring Oscar-nominated composer and pianist Max Richter alongside 43 young musicians from Association Orchestre à l’École. Rooted in one of the collection’s most compelling themes, a chaotic night at the opera, the film transforms a concert venue into something wonderfully unexpected, with a climbing frame, a swing, and a slide down the aisle. The joy is palpable, infectious, and utterly Margiela.

Shot at the magnificent Théâtre de la Villette in Paris, the film doubles as a gorgeous showcase for the collection. Richter wears tailored looks from the runway while the young musicians sport oversized suits painted white in Margiela’s signature Bianchetto treatment. The campaign also highlights two standout new accessories, the archival-inspired Heel-less shoe and the brand new Box Bag, both already impossibly covetable.

As a final touch, a Joy-themed Spotify playlist curated by Richter and the orchestra is now live on Maison Margiela’s Spotify. The Spring Summer 2026 collection is available now at maisonmargiela.com.
