The tally was sky high (think 1.8 million plus) at the recent Second Biennial gala of the Cedars Cancer Centre.
Magnificently hosted by the Cedars Cancer Foundation, and expertly chaired by Paola Aprikian and Daphne Tsadilas Shamie, in the presence of distinguished honorary chairs, Dr. Armen Aprikian, Diana Ferrara Scalia and Adam Turner, the gala took the Party City by stylish storm at historic Windsor Station’s Salle des pas perdus where over 550 high-profile guests were brought to their feet thanks to performance magic courtesy of headlining talents, Grammy winning R&B and disco queen Thelma Houston and Canada’s American Idol sensation, Nicolina.
Officially dubbed “Le Gala – At the Leading Edge,” the spectacular back-to-live event honoured the gifted interdisciplinary teams of healthcare professionals who work at the Cedars Cancer Centre at the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) while simultaneously shining the light on exciting new developments under development there.
Among the glittering guests on scene were cancer survivor Marc Normandeau, a medical communications specialist at L’Oréal who spoke passionately about his treatment and care at Cedars, as well as Peter Kruyt, chair of the MUHC Board of Directors, and wife, Claire Mullins; Tony Aksa, chair of the Cedars’ Board, and wife, Carine Bou Karam; John and Phyllis Rae; George and Simé Armoyan; Arden and Christine Dervishian; ambassador of Lebanon to Canada, Fadi Ziadeh, and wife, Tania; honorary consul of Armenia in Québec, Levon Afeyan, and wife, Ana; Michael Flinker and wife, Dr. Marcia Gillman; Louis Vachon and Chantal Carrier; Ronald Reuben and Myriam Dahan; Christopher Nacos and Sarah Lamarche; Frank and Mary Rana; Demo and Evelyn Trifonopoulos; Sam Kersheh and Brigitte Lalanda; Nadim Rizk and Audrey Huot; Gwen Nacos; Dr. Roger Tabah; Lisa Chamandy; Sarah and Catherine Cook; Peggy Tabet and Joseph El Khoury; Andrew Carter; and Anthony Calvillo.
