TROISIÈME CERCLE

EXPANDING MINDS AND NETWORKS

The exclusive invitation arrived with discerning precision, reflecting the ethos of Troisième Cercle and its founder, Viviane Sauvé de Guise. It promised a March 5th evening shaped by culture, conversation, and intention. I stepped into the Montreal Symphony House knowing I was entering more than a networking event. I was entering a framework designed to reimagine how professional women connect in the city.

The pre-concert cocktail unfolded in a luminous foyer filled with over 130 guests drawn from Troisième Cercle and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra’s philanthropic circles. Conversations carried a different cadence. Women spoke about ventures, leadership challenges, and creative pursuits with clarity and purpose. The atmosphere encouraged presence. Introductions felt deliberate, never transactional.

Our host moved through the room with calm assurance, connecting individuals with a thoughtful eye. Her vision for Troisième Cercle became tangible in those moments. She has built a vibrant community anchored in the idea of a “third place,” a space that exists between professional obligation and private life, where meaningful relationships take root.

The Concert as a Shared Cultural Language

At 18:30, the evening transitioned into the concert hall. The Montreal Symphony Orchestra — under the direction of conductor Jessica Cottis — presented The Enchanting Firebird by Stravinsky. The shift from conversation to music felt seamless. Troisième Cercle integrates culture as a shared language, one that deepens connection without requiring explanation.

The performance unfolded with vivid orchestral color. Strings moved with controlled intensity while brass accents shaped moments of tension and release. I observed how the experience resonated with the audience. It created a collective emotional reference point that carried back into conversation afterward.

Viviane has articulated a clear intention in aligning her community with the city’s cultural institutions. Her involvement with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra’s Young Ambassadors Circle reflects a commitment to embedding professional networks within the local artistic ecosystem. That alignment gives Troisième Cercle a distinct identity. It positions culture as a central pillar of professional growth.

Conversations That Extend Beyond the Evening

After the final notes, guests lingered within the Symphony House, continuing conversations that had begun earlier in the evening. The setting encouraged a more relaxed form of exchange. Discussions resumed with greater familiarity, shaped by the shared experience of the performance.

I noticed how connections evolved over the course of the evening. Initial introductions deepened into discussions about collaboration, mentorship, and long-term ambitions. The curated nature of the guest list created a sense of complicity among attendees. Everyone present carried a level of experience and intention that elevated the dialogue.

A Community Built with Precision

My initiation into Troisième Cercle, which will celebrate its one-year anniversary at Château Saint-Ambroise on April 24, revealed a carefully constructed ecosystem. Viviane Sauvé de Guise — a statuesque, smart and spirited go-getter who turns 30 on March 30th — has created a model that prioritizes quality over scale. Each event reflects a balance between cultural immersion and professional engagement.

The evening at the Symphony House illustrated how environment shapes interaction. From the architectural clarity of the concert hall to the intimate ambiance of the afterparty at Le Clara, each setting reinforced the community’s values.

I left with a clear understanding of Troisième Cercle’s ambition. What started as the Books & Booze club in 2023, and transformed into a private member’s network for women in 2025, aims to cultivate a community where relationships develop through shared experiences and sustained dialogue. In Montreal’s evolving professional landscape, this approach feels both relevant and necessary.

The experience marked an entry point into a circle defined by intention, culture, and connection. It established a standard for what networking can achieve when guided by vision and executed with precision.
