So no, we should never play gala faves … but hey, it’s hard not to when talking Bal du MAC because the annual benefit event for our beloved Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal (MAC) is JUST. THAT. GOOD.
Year after year, the Fondation du MAC’s A-team delivers for the A-list crowd.
And 2023, elegantly co-chaired by Éric Bujold of National Bank of Canada and Jade Raymond of Haven Studios, was no different. “A Bal du MAC to remember for a long time to come, ” enthused dedicated Fondation Executive Director, Anne Lebel.
Creatively masterminded by the epically talented Dick Walsh of Walsh Lab Design with a visual identity imagined by Baillat Studio, 2023’s PALACE: Bal du MAC at Arsenal art contemporain not only vibrated with an electric beat all its own, but immersed the sold-out swarm of 700 plus movers and shakers from the cultural, political and business communities in a one-of-a-kind p-art-y universe that still has them buzzing days later …
Beats, eats, art like no other (Edward Burtynsky’s Abstract Landscape and Chimeria featuring the mastery of Michael Dean, Hannah Epstein, Matthew Hansel and Allison Zuckerman), and a mindbogglingly impressive almost $1,4 million for the foundation’s many vital educational and supportive initiatives, WHAT MORE COULD WE ASK FOR?
