So, if we’re spilling the tea on Karolina Jez, here goes everything: I’ve known this mega-talented Super Gal for a while now and the girl (gal) crush just keeps intensifying. Not only is the highly sought after photographer and content creator a total dream to collaborate with (she’s that rare Lenser who puts all subjects at ease and elicits squeals of delight when they see their unretouched shots—aka mission impossible), but she also consistently delivers some of the best results in the biz.

Even more fabulous? She brings the laughter, the love—and the snacks. It’s no wonder some of the world’s biggest luxury brands (hello L’Oréal, Gucci Beauty, Ralph Lauren, Revolve, Michael Kors, Shangri-La Hotels, Browns Shoes, and more) are proudly Jez-addicted (JA).
Speaking of which, we at Diary of a Social Gal have a brand-new JA: Karolina’s recently completed hive—the perfect home base for the busy new mom and her fam.
If you don’t already have a girl (gal) crush on Karolina, chances are you will after this stylish sneak peek. Enjoy.

Karolina, as a fellow earth sign, I know you love to spend quality time at home with close friends and family. How did that inspire your decor? As an earth sign, I do cherish those intimate gatherings at home with my closest people. That really shaped my approach to our living spaces. Alongside our designer, Gillian Segal, we have intentionally created conversation-friendly nooks with deep, comfortable seating that encourages guests to settle in and stay awhile. The materials throughout our home reflect that earthy sensibility as well—lots of natural woods, stone elements, and a mix of vintage and newer pieces that add history and character. I’m drawn to a palette of warm neutrals that creates a sanctuary that feels at once luxurious and wholly unpretentious.
For me, home isn’t about showpieces, but about creating spaces where memories happen naturally—whether it’s a little house party or a dinner (I’m a terrible cook, so thank you Uber Eats, haha!)—and where everyone feels instantly comfortable just being themselves.

I also know you love to entertain; how did that inform the design journey? Opening up our living space completely transformed how we entertain. Without walls separating the kitchen, dining, and living areas, we can remain part of the conversation while preparing food and drinks. The space flows naturally, with guests moving freely between areas while staying connected. I’ve defined each zone through furniture placement—the dining table, kitchen island, and living room seating create distinct functional areas without isolation.
What I love most is how adaptable the space is—intimate enough for close friends gathering on the sofa, yet spacious enough for larger parties where people can spread out without feeling disconnected. This open concept perfectly balances my earth-sign desire for both groundedness and connection, creating a warm environment where entertaining feels effortless and natural.

Truth be told, we all have one or two favourite spaces in our hives. What are yours, and why? My living room is my absolute happy place! It all started with my dream Murano chandelier from Studio Laurin—once I hung it, everything else in the space had to live up to its fabulousness. The vintage marble fireplace I scored from Europe brings this gorgeous old-world gravitas that plays so beautifully against the modern lines overhead. I also searched far and wide for our brown velvet Mario Bellini Camaleonda first edition couch!
Those puffy leather squares are basically a magnet for friends who come over and then mysteriously “forget” to leave for hours. As an earth sign, I’m all about creating spaces that feel like a warm hug, and this room—with its mix of statement vintage pieces and romantic lighting moments—is where the best conversations happen.

Finally, given that this is Le PLAYBOOK, an homage to playfulness, how do you bring play to your spaces? I bring play into my spaces through a love affair with curves—arched doorways, rounded furniture, and mouldings that feel like they’re winking at you. I mix stones, woods, and statement furniture like I’m hosting a slightly chic, yet somehow unruly, dinner party. Add in a few pieces of vintage lighting that look like they’ve seen some stories… and suddenly, every corner feels a little bit flirtatious and a lot more alive.
