There’s no question that the greatest artist of the 20thcentury would have been infinitely impressed by the 2019 Daffodil Ball benefiting the Canadian Cancer Society. The Picasso-themed edition, artfully chaired by Intelerad’s Paul Lepage and Soprema’s Richard Voyer, was a stroke of genius (wink on the double wordplay!) that sent hundreds of jaws dropping with touches including an “in studio” Picasso human canvas, grand staircase festooned with a triple-layered Cubist topiary of trademark daffodils, headliningEmmy-winning American guitarist Benis (who had them at first strum), and themed multi-course feast. The final tally was a cool 1.3 million. Picasso would have liked that too. Photography KAREL CHLADEK, ALLEN MCINNIS, AUSTIN SCHARGORODSKI
