FIRST, don’t be skimping on the vodka; embrace the good stuff, especially because the V is such a powerful driver of the mix. On the Diary side, we’re partial to solid brands like Belvedere, Grey Goose and homegrown Pur, flavoured or not, deferring to individual palates.
SECOND, don’t be afraid to personalize and own the blend, be it with a unique garnish, i.e., a sexy floral or an edgy ingredient you love, like a spray of mint. Experimenting is good; it brings out your inner mixologist and adds interest to the bev.
Ingredients
(serves one)
2 ounces (1/4 cup) vodka.
1/2 ounce (1 tablespoon) triple sec.
3/4 ounce (1 tablespoon + 1 1/2 teaspoons) cranberry juice.
1/4 to 1/2 ounce (1 1/2 teaspoons to 3 teaspoons) fresh lime juice.
Ice.

How to
Fill cocktail shaker with ice.
Add vodka, triple sec, cranberry and lime juices.
Shake for approximately 30 seconds.
Pour into martini glass.
Garnish as desired. Yes, creatively. 😉
