THE FRESHEST SUPERSTAR BEAUTY PRODUCTS

From Budapest to Montreal

We’ve all heard of cult beauty brands from countries like France (Caudalie), Japan (Shiseido) and Brazil (Sol de Janeiro), but what about Hungary?

Well my friends, the time is nigh.

Featuring unique organic ingredients like Hungarian moor mud, bamboo, oils from a variety of fruits and flowers and Hungarian thermal water (FYI, prized since the Roman Empire for its healing properties), the following products from Omorovicza, Eminence and Kaviczky not only work wonders, they also smell divine (and are sure to be on the tip of everyone’s tongues — as well as all over their skin — in the very near future).

OMOROVICZA

There’s been quite the buzz surrounding Omorovicza’s Queen of Hungary Mist, which purifies and tones skin thanks to its unique combination of orange blossom, rose, sage and Hungarian thermal water. But let me warn you Social Gals and Gents; it’s highly addictive. Spray it once and there’s no going back …

The Thermal Cleansing Balm, nearly black and starring moor mud (an ingredient essential for purifying and nourishing skin while removing all traces of makeup, including waterproof mascara!), comes with the cutest — and tiniest — little face cloth to help do its work.

As for the Firming Neck Cream, it’s a new product in the line made of white truffle enzymes and leontopodic acid extracted from edelweiss flowers, that visibly reduces the appearance of wrinkles and sagging skin (no thank you!) and acts as a virtual neck lift.

EMINENCE

Yes, I’m loving Eminence’s Bamboo Firming Fluid. Containing awesome ingredients like bamboo, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals as well as coconut oil and coconut water, it’s another of those must-have products that does incredibly impressive firming and plumping things for  the skin (and, yay, smells like a million bucks).

Predictably, the  Stone Crop Hydrating Mist, another Eminence must-get, is brimming with stone crop juice, which I’ve honestly never heard of. That said, me likey!

Finally, the Coconut Age Corrective Moisturizer — full of coconut goodness, as the name implies — is rich without being greasy and comes so close to the smell of real coconut that it’s hard not to want to eat it, so don’t say I didn’t warn you, okay?

KAVICZKY

Don’t let the cool European DJ name fool you. This product line does the job, and then some, starting with the totally addictive Mild Mechanical Peeling.

Fortified with olive seed, thermal water from Hévíz and corn germ, it’s quite grainy without being irritating, so really exfoliates the skin nicely, leaving it soft, smooth and clear (but not red).

Hello morning! The Nourishing Day Cream with ginkgo is exactly what it claims to be: nourishing AF! A perfect cream to use after you’ve gotten more sun than you (probably) should have, it also works well during cold, dry, windy winters (but let’s not go there right now, mmmk?).

Finally, the Cosmeceutical Intensive Care Cream for dehydrated skin with orchid is even richer, and more nourishing, than its predecessor and I really enjoyed using it as a soothing night cream. Post sun, fun and — let’s be honest — several delicious but dehydrating cocktails on a summer day, it’s the optimal remedy.

Parting thought: After trying all these spectacular products, I’m starting to think a trip to one of Hungary’s spas is in order… Any Social Gals (or Gents) care to join?  😉
