DRINK OF THE WEEK: STRAWBERRIES AND ROSÉ

Because drinking pink is as good as thinking it

We’d be kidding our beverage-loving selves if we didn’t admit to having a MAJOR thing for good drinks which was inevitably a MAJOR motivation for the following DRINK OF THE WEEK feature, meant to add all kinds of fabulous to your #PARTYTHURSDAY. As for our co-conspirators here, oh just the greatest purveyors of luxury liquids on the planet …    

A PRETTY PERKY PICK-YOU-UP 

Ingredients (makes 4-6)

  • 2 oz basil simple syrup
  • 4 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1 bottle (750ml) Chandon Rosé
  • 2 pints fresh strawberries, sliced fresh basil sprigs for garnish

Basil Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup loosely packed basil leaves

How-to

First prep the Simple Syrup:

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil. Remove from heat and let sit for 30 minutes. Strain syrup into a clean container and refrigerate. Discard basil.

Next:

Pour the simple syrup and lime juice into a pitcher. Stir well. Add Rosé. Then pop in the strawberries. Fill with ice, garnish with a sprig of fresh basil and serve to one very happy gaggle of Social Gals and Social Gents. 😉
